As an outspoken (and pretty loud) gender equality advocate, I had to blab about this. Gender equality is not just about equal pay for equal work, or equitable treatment of men and women in the workplace, or even the fact we’re not just about our dresses, not even at the Oscars (#AskHerMore). It’s also about our shoes, and since we’re talking about shoes and gender equality in the same phrase, I’m all ears (and feet)…
There is now such a thing as gender-equal footwear, and while it may bring a smile to some of you, it just fills me with wonder as to what we’re able to do when it comes to gender equality.
The idea came to Nik Kacy, a former Google employee and now designer, when he couldn’t find shoes that weren’t designed by gender. So he created his own, the first ever gender-equal footwear line, offering styles that both men and women can wear in gender-neutral sizes too!

Hello Solange,
I’m NiK Kacy and I just wanted to say thank you so much for blogging about my Kickstarter campaign. I am sorry I am only just seeing this now. I happened upon your page via a search when my friend was helping me with Search results haha.
Since my Kickstarter campaign, I’ve fulfilled all my backer orders and am now working on a new collection called Destiny, which are designs that IMHO is considered truly gender equal and gender neutral in every way, not just in fit but by design aesthetic as well.
I hope all is going well with you and thank you again for your support! Be sure to check out our latest looks and news via social media @nikkacyfootwear!
